Haunted House guitarist Mark Smak wrote the majority of the music found on the band's self-titled EP in a basement that he believes is occupied by ghosts. Heavily inspired by early 1980's Alternative, Haunted House produce a sound that is thick with drum-machine rhythms, grim vocals, and melancholic guitar melodies. It was impo read +

In a year already full of punk rock and hardcore reunions, it's no surprise to hear of a Black Flag reunion. They were only one of the most influential punk rock bands in the US in the late 70's and early 80's and a few un-named LX staffers were heavily influenced by the band in our formative years. The tough part it seems is, who owns the right to say they are Black Flag? read +

It’s a theme that Hey Champ! has covered before in one of my favorite 2010 jams, “Cold Dust Girl,” which talks about the intoxicating effects of an aloof girl with a fearless soul. But by the time the band returns to this idea, in sort-of-sequel “Cliché,” they’ve grown tired of the never-ending club kids bent on self destruction. European elctro-pop duo Mollyhaus have just released their video for "Red Shoes," the first video from their eponymous debut EP.
